The Neighbors concept is getting a supernatural twist in the upcoming comedy Ghost Bros. Josh Bycel and Jonathan Fener, best known for their work on the TV sitcom Happy Endings, are responsible for the screenplay. Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels is producing the horror comedy for Paramount under his Broadway Video banner.

Ghost Bros. kicks off in the 80s, and centers on two hapless Fraternity brothers who die inside their fraternity house. They end up sticking around to haunt the present day owners. According to The Tracking Board, Sam Grey is the executive producer for Broadway. Alana Mayo and Gabby Canton are overseeing the project for Paramount.

Lorne Michaels has produced a number of movies over the past 40 years, some adaptations of Saturday Night Live sketches. Most of these movies have been set up as projects for current SNL players or alums. He was behind Mean Girls, which was a longtime pet project for Tina Fey. And he shepherded Lonely Island's first feature film Hot Rod to the big screen. Some of his SNL based movies over the years include Coneheads, Wayne's World, Superstar and The Ladies Man.

Josh Bycel and Jonathan Fener have a long history with cult TV shows that build a strong following, including Psyche and American Dad! Their most recent collaborations include Telenovela and the Lorne Michaels produced sitcom Mulaney. While it is expected that one or more SNL cast members will headline the comedy, no announcement has been made yet.

With director Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot on the horizon, some believe that a horror comedy revival may be about to happen. That movie stars a leading lady line-up of old and new Saturday Night Cast members as well. Lorne Michaels most recently produced the Tiny Fey war comedy Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. He is also behind the delayed action comedy Masterminds, which stars Ghostbusters leading lady and former Not Ready for Prime Time player Kristen Wiig. Lorne Michaels is also working on Brother in Laws, which stars SNL's Taran Killam.
