When Sony announced its plans to reboot the iconic classic Ghostbusters with an all-girl cast, the news brought a lot of haters out of the woodwork, many of which expressed their dissent on social media. Before and during production, director Paul Feig fired back at those who claimed this reboot would ruin their childhood by assembling a team of female Ghostbusters, but that hasn't stopped angry fans from spreading their hate. A new YouTube list recently surfaced featuring the 100 most disliked videos of all time, and the Ghostbusters trailer that debuted in March is the only movie trailer on the list.

The list was compiled by the YouTube channel My Top 100 videos, with the Ghostbusters trailer ranking 21st with 523,376 dislikes, just between Justin Bieber's music video for Sorry (551,000 dislikes) and Taylor Swift's Shake It Off music video (522,000 dislikes). The only other movie-related videos on the list are a Frozen sing-along video of Let It Go at 52nd place with 296,000 dislikes, along with another version of Let It Go in 94th place with 213,000 dislikes. In case you're curious, the most hated YouTube video ever is Justin Bieber's music video for Baby, featuring Ludacris, which has a whopping 5.99 million dislikes.

Screen Crush also compiled some more data which puts the overwhelming hatred for the Ghostbusters trailer into perspective. The trailer for last year's critical and financial flop Fantastic Four has 20,175 dislikes, while The Ridiculous Six trailer, which has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, only has 5,803 dislikes. The trailer for the Ghostbusters reboot has been viewed 28.8 million times, with 205,405 likes and 523,376 dislikes. The ratio of dislikes to likes is a staggering 5:1, which is quite high, but not compared to others in this field. For example, the site pointed out that Psy's Gangnam Style video, which is number 4 overall with 1.5 million thumbs down for 2.5 billion views for a ratio of 1,666 dislikes to every one view.

The site also points out that fans seemed to be fueling the hatred quite enthusiastically. When one fan mentioned in the comments that they reached the 500,000 dislike plateau, another chimed in, stating they should try for one million dislikes. It's also worth noting that this trailer was released less than two months ago, and many of the other videos on this list have been out there for several years. What remains to be seen is if all this negative energy towards Ghostbusters will impact the box office at all.

Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15, a slot which has plenty of distance between superhero movies like Captain America: Civil War (May 6), X-Men: Apocalypse (May 27) and Suicide Squad (August 5). Its only competition on opening weekend is The Infiltrator, but it will go up against Paramount's sci-fi sequel Star Trek Beyond one week later on July 22. We haven't seen any early box office tracking data for Ghostbusters yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted as we get closer to the July 15 release date.
