Over the weekend, we showed you character posters that featured three of the four new Ghostbusters in Sony Pictures' highly-anticipated remake, which hits theaters this summer on July 15. It still isn't known when the next trailer will be unveiled for this upcoming summer adventure, but while we wait for more footage, Empire Magazine has debuted the cover for its June issue, which features the four main stars, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. The magazine has also debuted a newsstand cover, which features the iconic ghost Slimer.

Empire's newsstand cover gives us our best look at Slimer yet, who was first teased by director Paul Feig back in June, when he posted a photo of himself holding a cup of green slime. There was also a report from November which revealed that Slimer will speak, with The Simpsons voice actor Dan Castellaneta being listed on the movie's IMDB page as the man bringing this iconic apparition to life. However, the page was later corrected, explaining that the voice actor is actually portraying a "Scared New Yorker."

The story centers on Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig) and Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), who, years ago, wrote a book that posited ghosts do in fact exist. The plot picks up with Erin acquiring a teaching position at the prestigious Columbia University, but she is laughed out of academia once word of her book surfaces. At the same time, Abby is working with a new partner, Jillian Holtzman (Kate McKinnon), just as a new slew of ghosts begin to invade New York City. Erin ends up joining forces with Abby and Jillian, along with a new partner Patty (Leslie Jones), to save the Big Apple from these haints.

Chris Hemsworth leads the supporting cast as the Ghostbusters' secretary, alongside Andy Garcia as the mayor of New York City, Michael K. Williams as Hawkins, Matt Walsh as Rourke, Pat Kiernan as a news anchor and Neil Casey as the human villain. Original Ghostbusters stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts and Ernie Hudson have all been confirmed for cameo appearances. Sony has issued a July 15, 2016 release date, putting the Ghostbusters up against Broad Green Pictures' The Infiltrator.

Paul Feig directs the new Ghostbusters movie from a script he co-wrote with Katie Dippold. Original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman is producing alongside Dan Aykroyd. Only time will tell if Ghostbusters will be a hit at the box office, but it does have the advantage of opening in the sweet spot between highly-anticipated superhero movies like Captain America: Civi War, X-Men: Apocalypse and Suicide Squad. While we wait for more details on Ghostbusters, check out the new Empire Magazine covers below.
