From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first of a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien.

The three films tell a continuous story set in Middle-earth 60 years before The Lord of the Rings. The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Sorcerers.

Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain, first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever...Gollum.

Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of ingenuity and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum's "precious" ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities... A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

my son just finished watching the Lord of the Rings series with his father, now he's making me watch it with him even though I have a lifelong fear of Gullum (he thinks that's histerical!) but he'd love anything from any of the Lord of the Rings movies!

I've grown up to these stories, I read them every year religiously, I've started reading them on my own when I was about 7, the hobbit was the first story I started with of course. I even bought these books in paperback so I could take them on deployment with me lol. But I was ecstatic when the movies came out and I'm just as, if not more ecstatic now! Plus I'm sick and tired of wearing those cheap theater 3D glasses! ;D

I've always loved The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. When LOTR was made into movies, I was absolutely exstatic. Peter Jackson is simply a genius. But now that The Hobbit is out and is the most brilliant movie of 2012 if I do say so myself, my excitement is unparalleled. The movie was wonderful and I would be honored to have all of these prizes. They would be put to well use. To simply put it, I WANT MY PRECIOUS! PRECIOUS PRIZES!!

I grew up loving The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Through Jackson's vision of Tolkien's work, I was introduced to the magical world that is Middle-earth. I've highly anticipated this film for quite some time. Not only am I getting to see one of my most beloved books come to the big screen, but I am also getting a chance to relive some of that same excitement surrounding the films that I did with the LOTR trilogy.

The Hobbit was the first book I ever read, and I have always loved the story. I am called a Hobbit by all my nerdy friends because I am short and always get around bare foot! And I live in Aus and so therefore have not even been able to see the film like the rest of the world!

i havloved lord of the rings, the hobbit, and other books tolkien has written. he could take me away from this world and put me in another time, another place, by only reading a few sentences. i want these, because i am a die hard fan of the book and his other works too, and like to wear a t shirt to show others how much i apprecaite this classic, in hopes to urge them into reading it too. this book and movie expresses friendship, bravery, and standing up for what you want and love. just awesome work

Me and my little sister have been obsessed with the Lord of the Rings/ Hobbit since we were 8 and 13, we are now 15 and 20 and have read the books God knows how many times! We were at the midnight release of the Hobbit, having our tickets well over a month in advance, and even went as far as getting the 8 foot-tall or so Gandalf cardboard and 'The Hobbit' carboard sign from the theatres just yesterday :) So I'd say we are obsessed enough to earn these items...if I got them, I would give one or some to my little sister as a Christmas gift. We even have 'The One Ring' on a chain around our necks at all times....lol...yes..a tad obsessed.

Where do I begin? I feel a little selfish saying why I should win, but I guess that's normal. I would love to win for the simple fact that I'm a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien and Peter Jackson. I grew up reading and watching the LotR series with my Grandpa. We would recite different quotes from the story or talk about what race we would be and why. Unfortunately, he passed away last year and now it's just me enjoying the series. I would really love to win all of this. Watching The Hobbit was almost like having part of him back. I'll never forget what this series has done for me, and it'll always be a big part of my life.
