Brad Falchuk will rewrite the Dirty Dancing remakeGlee and American Horror Story co-creator Brad Falchuk has signed on to rewrite the screenplay for Dirty Dancing.

We reported in August that screenwriter Maria Maggenti (Monte Carlo) boarded the remake. It isn't known if tBrad Falchuk will start from scratch, or just polish the previous draft.

Kenny Ortega is directing Dirty Dancing, which is said to incorporate classic 1960s songs, along with tunes from the original Dirty Dancing and contemporary tracks. Kenny Ortega served as choreographer of the original 1987 classic, which launched the careers of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.

No casting has been announced for this musical reboot, although Lionsgate has already issued a July 26, 2013 release date.
