I am so pumped for this... I remember the Godzilla from the 80's. It was my first one that made me like them.

The more I see of this film the more excited I get. Now if only they would release at least one of the trailers shown at SDCC.

@therealGoku that's in a way what they did. they want to make a Godzilla film that looks and feels like Godzilla, unlike the 98 Emmerich film. In regards to the new design for this film Edwards (the director) has said, "The way I tried to view it was to imagine Godzilla was a real creature and someone from Toho saw him in the 1950s and ran back to the studio to make a movie about the creature and was trying their best to remember it and draw it. And in our film you get to see him for real." (io9 interview) and "It was important to me that this felt like a Toho Godzilla... I'd love ours to be considered as part of the Toho group." (Shock Till You Drop interview)

Cool it looks just like the original design, I know I've been saying this alot but I'm still really hoping they give him that vicious roar he had on King of the Monsters.

Looks like the original. Maybe they didn't want to go with a new design and possibly f*ck it up. So they played it safe
