Warner Bros. is continuing to show their willingness to be flexible when it comes to the DC Extended Universe. Not only are they willing to bump movies from the schedule or move them back, but they continue to add movies based on potential public interest. One such movie, Gotham City Sirens, will serve as the Harley Quinn spinoff movie that has been talked about for several months. And it looks like Poison Ivy will be part of the female villain ensemble. So who is going to play her? Turns out, maybe Megan Fox.

Bleeding Cool has come across some circumstantial evidence that lends some credibility to the idea that Megan Fox may be circling the role of Poison Ivy. Back in 2014, she expressed interest in playing either Poison Ivy or Red Sonja and she is a known comic book fan. Aside from that older evidence, Bleeding Cool is reporting that she has been ordering some DC Comics recently that seem very timely. Here is what they had to say.

"Fox has been ordering comic books online, Very specific ones. I have been shown hard evidence that she has ordered these specific titles, sent to her Warner Studios address. They are Harley Quinn #14, #17 and #38. The first two feature early appearances of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy together and the latter regarding her relationship with the Gotham City police."

The report makes it clear that this is mostly a speculative thing, but given the fact that the announcement for the Gotham City Sirens movie was just made and the interest Megan Fox has in these particular books at this particular moment lends some credibility to the speculation. Director David Ayer recently hinted on social media that the movie will include Harley Quinn, who will once again be played by Margot Robbie, as well as Poison Ivy and Catwoman. So the role will need to be filled and Megan Fox is an understandable prospect for the role, at least from a studio perspective, since she has worked on plenty of big movies like this in the past.

Gotham City Sirens was a recent DC Comics title that focused on the trio of Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy working as a team to do their own bidding. It sounds like this new movie will be taking its cues from that book. As a movie, the project was basically willed into existence by Margot Robbie. After she landed the role of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, the actress reportedly did a deep dive into the comics to research her character, and during that process, she became interested in many of the other DC female characters. She brought on an unidentified writer herself to develop the project, before taking the project to Warner Bros. The studio then quickly picked up the project and it was just announced that David Ayer would be directing and that it would officially be titled Gotham City Sirens, with the project previously rumored to be titled Birds of Prey.

Megan Fox will probably be a divisive pick among fans, since she hasn't exactly been in the most well-regarded comic book related movies during her career. She starred in both of the recent Michael Bay produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies and in the disastrous Jonah Hex. So her track record with comic book movies is a bit checkered. This is still rumor at this point, but don't necessarily be shocked if we hear something more official regarding Megan Fox and the role of Poison Ivy in the near future, since Gotham City Sirens is reportedly on the fast track.
