With the Season 2 premiere of Gotham rapidly approaching, Fox has released the first clip giving us a peek look inside Arkham Asylum. It features the first meeting between Jerome Valeksa, a.k.a. The Joker (Cameron Monaghan) and Barbara Kean (Erin Richards). While Jerome thinks he's bonding with Barbara, since they both landed in Arkham for killing their parents, Barbara is not the least bit interested in anything this "ginger" may have to say. Barbara shows Jerome that she's perfectly capable of taking care of herself, and making her own friends.

At the end of Gotham Season 1, Barbara killed her parents, while she was with a notorious serial killer known as The Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia). Now she resides in Arkham Aslyum, home to the criminally insane, but after showing off her powers of persuasion, it remains to be seen how long she'll be trapped in this prison. We have already seen set photos that show Jerome outside of the Arkham walls, having seemingly escaped. The photos reveal he is planning a heist of some sort, but we'll have to wait and see if Barbara has managed to escape with him.

Season 2 has already been dubbed "Rise of the Villains," with a number of nefarious characters set to debut this year. Tabitha Galivan/Tigress (Jessica Lucas) and her brother Theo Galivan (James Frain) will serve as the main antagonists, alongside Cameron Monaghan's Joker. Other new characters include Natalie Alyn Lind as Silver St. Cloud, a potential new love interest for young Bruce Wayne and Michael Chiklis as Captain Nathanial Barnes, a new mentor and ally to Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Season 1 stars Morena Baccarin (Dr. Leslie Thompkins), Nicholas D'Agosto (Harvey Dent) and Chris Chalk have also been promoted to series regulars in Season 2.

Series stars Ben McKenzie (James Gordon), Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock), Sean Pertwee (Alfred), Robin Taylor (Penguin), David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne), Camren Bicondova (Catwoman), Zabryna Guevara (Sarah Essen), Cory Michael Smith (Riddler), Victoria Cartagena (Renee Montoya), Andrew Stewart-Jones (Crispus Allen) and John Doman (Carmine Falcone) are all set to return. Unfortunately for fans of Jada Pinkett Smith's Fish Money, that character will not return this season. However, there certainly won't be any shortage of villains this season.

One of the big mysteries that has been teased in recent weeks is the secret "cave" that both Bruce Wayne and Alfred found at the end of the first season. Hopefully we'll find out more about this mysterious room before Gotham Season 2 premieres Monday, September 21 at 8 PM ET on Fox. In the meantime, check out the latest clip below, and stay tuned for more details from this highly-anticipated season.
