A group of college activist's trip to save an endangered tribe in the rain forest takes a horrific turn in the third trailer for director Eli Roth's new thriller The Green Inferno. After being pushed off its September 2014 release date indefinitely, it was announced earlier this month that the gory thriller will be released in theaters on September 25, 2015, with producer Jason Blum's Blumhouse Tilt company stepping in to distribute the film. The horror thriller marks Eli Roth's first directorial outing since Hostel: Part II back in 2007.

Directed and produced by Eli Roth, The Green Inferno follows a group of student activists who travel from New York City to the Amazon to save a tribe from extinction. In an unfortunate twist of fate, when the group arrives, they are taken hostage by the very cannibals they sought to protect. Director Eli Roth also has Knock, Knock starring Keanu Reeves hitting theaters later this year, although a specific release date hasn't been given yet.

Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Aaron Burns, Daryl Sabara, Kirby Bliss Blanton and Magda Apanowicz star in The Green Inferno, which Eli Roth co-wrote with Guillermo Amoedo. Are you looking forward to the horror director's return to the big screen? Check out the trailer and let us know what you think.
