According to Variety, helmer Greg Yaitanes (Bones) is taking a shot of Southern Comfort, signing on to direct the Fox drama pilot from scribes Tony and Joe Gayton.

Yaitanes is directing the 20th Century Fox TV-produced Southern Comfort under the terms of an overall deal he inked with Fox Broadcasting last year. He'll also come aboard as an exec producer of the ensemble drama set in the world of the Southern mafia.

The Gayton brothers wrote the pilot and will serve as exec producers with Yaitanes and Ken Topolsky.

In addition to the pilot of Bones, Yaitanes directed episodes of Lost, House, Prison Break, Nip/Tuck and CSI: Miami during the past year.
