Yesterday fans finally got to see the first trailer for the highly-anticipated superhero sequel Guardians of the Galaxy 2. While we'll probably have to wait quite some time for the next batch of footage, star Michael Rooker revealed a new photo that showcases the much larger mohawk his character Yondu will be sporting in the sequel. It seems that this character is getting closer and closer to his iconic look from the Marvel Comics.

The actor debuted this new photo on Facebook earlier today. We've previously seen Yondu's mohawk in another photo that debuted on Marvel's Instagram back in August. Not much has been revealed about Yondu's return yet, but with the May 5, 2017 release date getting closer and closer, we may find out more about soon. We've previously heard that Yondu will be part of the Guardians team, since he is no longer a member of the Ravagers.

During Marvel's Comic-Con presentation in Hall H this summer, the studio unveiled the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. While the big reveal from that footage was Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet, father of Star-Lord, there were plenty of other interesting details as well. Yondu (Michael Rooker) seems to be working together with Peter Quill, even after he double-crossed him at the end of the first movie. Yondu's inaction has upset the Ravagers, with Sean Gunn, who plays Kraglin, recently teasing that the sequel is set a few months after the first movie, and that the Ravagers and their new leader Taserface (Chris Sullivan) are trying to decide what to do with Yondu.

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's true parentage. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is produced by Marvel Studios' president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nikolas Korda and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. The original Guardians of the Galaxy was a hit with critics and audiences alike, earning over $770 million at the worldwide box-office, and holds the record as the most successful debut film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, the film's soundtrack went platinum and was nominated for a Grammy.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cast is lead by Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon and Vin Diesel as Groot. New cast members include Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet, Star-Lord's father, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Chris Sullivan as Taserface and Tommy Flanagan as Tullk. James Gunn directs from his own screenplay, based on the Marvel Comics. Take a look at this new photo from Michael Rooker's Facebook.
