Last month, production wrapped on Marvel's upcoming Phase 2 sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and to commemorate the occasion, director James Gunn and star Chris Pratt sent out a video from the set, where they confirmed that they will be heading to Comic-Con this year. They will be part of the massive Marvel Studios panel in Hall H on Saturday, which will also include Doctor Strange. Last night, the Con kicked off with Preview Night, where fans got their first chance to check out the convention floor. Marvel put a unique piece of artwork on display from this sequel, featuring the beloved character Yondu (Michael Rooker).

For those who weren't in attendance during Preview Night last night, Marvel revealed this portrait on Twitter, teasing that "this Yondu portrait will be seen on his ship, the Eclector." Yondu is seen striking a unique pose while holding his magical weapon, the Yaka Arrow, but we don't know for sure if there's a deeper history behind this portrait, and why Yondu feels the need to have it aboard his ship. Still, hopefully this is just the first of many reveals from this sequel throughout the Con.

Earlier this month, director James Gunn teased that fans will see "something" from this superhero sequel at SDCC, although he warned that the convention was putting new anti-piracy measures in place, to prevent footage from leaking online shortly after it debuts. He added that, if the footage doesn't leak, it will be a "short while" until the rest of the world will get to see the Comic-Con footage. Comic-Con International hasn't released any details about these anti-piracy measures, but it's worth noting that 20th Century Fox skipped the convention this year because of piracy concerns.

Last week, James Gunn also shared early concept art featuring Mantis, played by new cast member Pom Klementieff, along with Baby Groot, Yondu, Star-Lord, Rocket, Nebula and Gamora, which was designed by Andy Park. Hopefully we'll find out more about new cast members long with Kurt Russell, Elizabeth Debecki, Chris Sullivan and Tommy Flanagan at the convention. Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone have also been cast in this superhero sequel, but no details about their characters have been given at this time.

Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand. Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) are all set to return. Take a look at this Yondu portrait below, and stay tuned for more on Guardians 2 throughout Comic-Con
