At the end of Marvel's Comic-Con presentation this past summer, the studio announced that a brand new Guardians of the Galaxy ride is coming to Disney's California Adventure. The attraction isn't set to open until the summer of 2017, coinciding with the release of Marvel's highly-anticipated sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but today we have a new video that reveal a closer look at this ride. We learned last year that this attraction will give fans a tour of Taneleer Tivan, a.k.a. The Collector's massive collection, and this new video takes us inside this huge facility.

The Disney Parks Blog debuted this new behind-the-scenes video and photos, with Joe Rohde, Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering, describing this warehouse as a "fortress-like power plant." He also states that this warehouse holds The Collector's "irreplaceable collection" with items from all over the world. Back in August, Benicio del Toro was spotted wearing his Collector costume, which some speculated could be for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but it may be to film materials for this new ride.

The video also features John Mauro, an executive producer at Walt Disney Imagineering, who showcases the actual physical model that was built as a reference for this new attraction. He states that the exterior look of this warehouse, with several pipes running through it, was inspired by oil refineries, and that there are several different design elements at play in this building. We also have new photos of The Collector's warehouse, which you can see below the video.

Featuring characters from the blockbuster films, Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! is an epic new adventure combining the familiar, breathtaking free-fall sensation with all-new visual and audio effects, including music inspired by the popular Guardians of the Galaxy film soundtrack. The ride will follow the mysterious Collector, who has trapped his newest acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy. One member of the group, the intrepid Rocket, has escaped, and he calls upon brave visitors for help. Guests board a gantry lift which launches them into a daring adventure as they join Rocket in an attempt to set free his fellow Guardians.

Guests will experience a variety of randomized ride experiences, so you never know which adventure you will get! Disney hasn't given a concrete debut date for Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! at Disney California Adventure park quite yet, but it will likely coincide with the debut of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on May 5, 2017. The new attraction will anchor a broader universe of Super Heroes that will grow over time in Disney California Adventure Park. Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! will transform the structure currently housing The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror into an epic new adventure, enhancing the breathtaking free fall sensation with new visual and audio effects to create a variety of ride experiences. Take a look at the new video and photos for Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout.
