New Line Cinema has informed us that the cast of their upcoming musical-remake Hairspray, will be features on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday, May 16.

It starts with a live performance medley, which will also be a national debut of three hit songs from the film: Nikki Blonsky performing "Good Morning Baltimore", Elijah Kelly performing "Run and Tell That", and Zac Efron performing "Ladie's Choice".

Plus, join John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Queen Latifah, Christopher Walken, Nikki Blonsky, Zac Efron & Elijah Kelly as they talk with Oprah Winfrey about their new musical Hairspray, in theatres July 20th.

Hairspray is originally based on the 1988 John Waters comedy about star-struck teenagers on a local Baltimore dance show. The new version of the film will be based on New Line's hit Broadway adaptation of the film, which debuted in 2002, and went on to win eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book and Best Director. Travolta will play Edna Turnblad and Queen Latifah will play Motormouth Maybelle in the film. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman will contribute new songs to their Tony Award winning score.
