While it's not quite clear when Channing Tatum will begin shooting his recently confirmed role in the X-Men spinoff Gambit, he will have some free time in his schedule at the beginning of the year, which he may use to star in The Hateful Eight for director Quentin Tarantino.

The character in question hasn't been revealed, but it is said to be a major role. This only leads to speculation that he will be playing one of the Hateful Eight.

It was originally believed that the cast of the live script read held in Hollywood would be reprising their roles on screen. The latest report confirms that Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Kurt Russell are all on board.

Not confirmed from the table read are James Parks, Amber Tamblyn, Walton Goggins, Denis Menochet, Zoe Bell and James Remar. Jennifer Jason Leigh was not at the table read, but is assumed to be filling the role originally played by Amber Tamblyn. Other actors rumored for the project not involved with the table read include Viggo Mortensen as the main villain and Jennifer Lawrence, but its likely that her role is the one that wound up going to Jennifer Jason Leigh. That has not been confirmed or denied.

Quentin Tarantino is planning an early 2015 start date, and plans to have the movie in theaters by the end of the year.
