Many movie fans are looking forward to December because of Star Wars: The Force Awakens hitting theaters. There is another cross-section of fandom that is awaiting the holiday season for another reason, the release of Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight. Earlier today, a new poster was released from this revenge Western, and now we have even more details about the film's soundtrack. Film Music Reporter is reporting that Decca Records is releasing the soundtrack on December 18, with 28 tracks that includes music from composer Ennio Morricone and songs from The White Stripes, Roy Orbison and David Hess.

The soundtrack will include David Hess' Now You're All Alone from The Last House on the Left soundtrack, The White Stripes song Apple Blossom and Roy Orbison's There Won't Be Many Coming Home, which is from the 1967 movie The Fastest Guitar Alive, where the singer made his first and only film appearance. There will also be numerous musical pieces from Ennio Morricone, who was confirmed to provide the score back in July, along with snippets of dialogue. These dialogue pieces include "Major Warren Meet Daisy Domergue" featuring Jennifer Jason Leigh, "This Here Is Daisy Domergue" with Kurt Russell, "Son of the Bloody N**ger Kller of Baton Rouge" with Samuel L. Jackson, "Jim Jones at Botany Bay" with Jennifer Jason Leigh, "Uncle Charlie's Stew" featuring Samuel L. Jackson, "The Suggestive Oswaldo Mobray" by Tim Roth and "Daisy's Speech" by Walton Goggins.

Set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as "The Hangman," will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town's new Sheriff.

Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie's Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie's, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Demián Bichir), who's taking care of Minnie's while she's visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Tim Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Michael Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Bruce Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all.

The supporting cast includes Channing Tatum, James Remar, James Parks, Dana Michelle Gourrier, Zoe Bell, Gene Jones, Craig Stark and Belinda Owino. Quentin Tarantino directs from his own original screenplay, which you may recall was leaked online and almost lead to this production never happening at all. The Hateful Eight is the filmmaker's 8th film, whic will arrive in select theaters Christmas Day of this year, with an exclusive two-week roadshow opening in 70mm. Following the two-week engagement, the film will open with a digital theatrical release nationwide on January 8, 2016, while continuing to be shown in 70mm as well.
