It seems that a whole new generation will become familiar with the catch-phrase, "Book 'em, Danno." According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new, updated version of Hawaii Five-O is being set up at CBS.

Criminal Minds executive producer and showrunner Ed Bernero will write this new installment and insists that, while the characters, pacing and stories will be modernized, "we will try to keep as much of the original show as possible," Bernero said. "I'm not trying to reinvent it." Bernero has described the project simply as Hawaii Five-O.

The original Hawaii Five-O series ran on CBS from 1968 to 1980 and starred Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett, who headed up a Hawaii state police unit. In the reboot, it will be McGarrett's son, Chris, that's taking the reins of this department.

Two other staples of the original will be present as well, but tweaked. The original theme song will reamin mostly the same, although it will be modernized and there will be another version of the classic episode-ending line, "Book em, Danno" in this new series.
