It seems that comedian Russell Brand could get some Oscar-winning company in his new remake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Helen Mirren is in negotiations to join Brand in the remake Arthur.

Mirren is in talks to portray the valet of the title character, a role that won John Gielgud an Oscar for best supporting role in the original 1981 Arthur film, which starred Dudley Moore as the title character.

Peter Baynham has written the script for the remake, which doesn't have a director attached as of yet. The original film revolved around the title character, a hard-partying playboy who will inherit his family's fortune if he marries his family's chosen partner, when he falls in love with a working-class woman, seeking advice from his trusted valet.

No production schedule has been released for the film.
