T.J. Miller, Nick Swardson and Rob Riggle lend their voices to three friends who literally find themselves in hell in the first red band trailer for Hell & Back. We got our first look at Hell & Back with new photos that debuted back in May, but this age-restricted trailer shows off the film's adult-themed humor. This stop-motion animated comedy hails from the same company that produces Adult Swim's Robot Chicken. Yahoo! Movies also spoke with T.J. Miller about how voice over work takes away his biggest comedic asset.

"I lose the most valuable asset to my comedic skill set, which is how weird looking I am. You only have your voice. You can't make a stupid face. In Silicon Valley a lot of my laughs come from Erlich just giving a sort of look. It really is a lot what he looks like, even my facial hair."

Remy (voiced by Nick Swardson), Augie (T.J. Miller) and Curt Rob Riggle have been best friends since birth. When they jokingly take a blood oath and break it, Curt is dragged to Hell to be sacrificed. The guys must risk everything to save their friend from a slew of misfit demons, Greek legends, and the Devil himself. Are they prepared? No, absolutely not.

The supporting voice cast includes Mila Kunis as a demon named Deema, Danny McBride as Orpheus, Susan Sarandon as Barb the Angel, David Koechner as Asmodeus and Bob Odenkirk as The Devil. The film was written by Tom Gianas, Hugh Sterbakov and Zeb Wells, with Tom Gianas and Ross Shuman directing. The writers and directors have all worked on Adult Swim's Robot Chicken.

In Hell & Back, Remy, Augie, and Curt are on summer vacation from community college, trying to save up for their dream pad by working at a local Carnival. When Curt reveals the failing park is going to close, Remy seeks out the resident fortune teller to find a quick fix to their predicament. The Blood Oath of Beelzebub may actually be more than they bargained for, and when Curt immediately breaks the oath, he's dragged kicking and screaming into the depths of Hell. Remy and Augie manage to follow, but are they prepared to fight the legions of Hell to get their friend back? Spoiler: No. No they are not. Remy and Augie team up with the beautiful half-demon, half-human Deema to navigate their way through Hell to rescue Curt before Beelzebub claims him for good. Along the way we meet a Devil obsessed with his small penis, a sassy Angel with a sharp tongue, and the mythical man / child Orpheus, stuck in Hell after rescuing his precious Eurydice and loving every minute of it. Hell & Back is both an irreverent look at the mundane operation of Hell and an exploration of its more exotic corners...

Hell & Back is set to hit theaters on October 2, which puts this animated comedy movie up against 20th Century Fox's The Martian. Before you check out the trailer below, be warned there will be plenty of R-rated adult language, which one doesn't often see in a stop motion movie. Will you be checking out this unorthodox animated comedy in theaters on October 2?
