Hitman: Agent 47 centers on an elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck.  He is the culmination of decades of research, and forty-six earlier Agent clones, endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence. His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47's past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own.

Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe. Aleksander Bach makes his directorial debut with this video game reboot. Hitman: Agent 47 boasts a stellar ensemble cast headlined by Rupert Friend. He is joined by Zachary Quinto, Ciarán Hinds, Thomas Kretschmann, Hannah Ware, Emilio Rivera, Dan Bakkedahl and Rolf Kanies.

Hitman: Agent 47 is based on the popular video game series created by IO Interactive. There have been eight different installments of the game released since it was first introduced in 2000. The franchise expanded into a series of paperback novels before being launched as a feature film with 2007's Hitman. Timothy Olyphant played the title character with a story that was only loosely based on the game that inspired it. Though panned by most critics, the film went onto become a financial success. Timothy Olyphant was set to return for a sequel, but it got canceled during pre-production before it could start shooting. Instead of trying to bring everyone back together, 20th Century Fox opted for a complete reboot.

Rupert Friend now takes over the role originated on the big screen by Timothy Olyphant. Perhaps not a household name, the British actor first made waves with his role as Mr. Wickham in the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice opposite Keira Knightley. He also appeared in other highly dramatic films such as The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and The Young Victoria. He is also known as Peter Quinn on the Showtime series Homeland. He takes on his first real genre role in Hitman: Agent 47, proving himself as a worthy action hero. You can see some of these moves on display in this final trailer before the film hits in just a few short weeks.
