Following the posters leading up to the full-length trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies, which will debut tomorrow, USA Today has released four new images featuring Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, Alfrid (Ryan Gage), Master of Lake-town (Stephen Fry) and a massive troll.

Unlike Peter Jackson's previous Hobbit and Lord of the Ring movies, the main characters in The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies have no journey ahead of them.

"(It) doesn't have any of that. Everybody's where they need to be, there's no new characters, all cards are on the table."

The filmmaker also explains that the movie opens where the The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug ended, with the dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch) setting Lake-town ablaze.

"That was a mountain no one would go near because of the danger of the dragon. Now the deterrent flies out, and that changes the dynamics of everything."

Screenwriter Philippa Boyens adds that their victory in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug of getting the dragon to leave the Lonely Mountain, put the main characters in more danger.

"It's a very dangerous victory. (We're) moving toward the darkness of The Lord of the Rings. It has some pretty intense drama and gives actors a chance to sink their teeth into some of the stuff."

Take a look at the new images below, and stay tuned for the new trailer debuting tomorrow, November 6.
