There's plenty of casting news going around town today. According to Variety, Ulrich Thomsen will headline the Columbia Pictures film The International. He'll be playing an investment banker who gets mixed up with arms dealers. Clive Owen and Naomi Watts co-star in this Tom Tykwer directed thriller. Shooting is set to begin soon in Berlin and Turkey.

In other news, Luke Grimes is the latest cast addition to Mischa Barton's The Sophomore. He will be playing the class president that gets nabbed in a plot to steal the SAT exam. Bruce Willis and his daughter Rumor co-star in this high school drama.

Ashley Roberts, best known for her stint with the Pussycat Dolls, has come aboard the Weinstein Company flick Make It Happen. The film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a young dancer who dreams of going to the Chicago School of Music and Dance. Instead, she ends up working in a local burlesque club. Roberts will be playing a fellow dancer. Darren Grant is directing Make It Happen, which is currently filming in Winnipeg.

In a final bit of casting news, it looks like Ashley Tisdale will star in Picture This. The direct-to-DVD film from MGM will follow the adventures of an ordinary girl who gets asked to the biggest party of the year by the most popular boy in school. Stephen Herek is directing the film, which is set to start filming in Montreal this week.
