CBS' hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother has been performing so well in the 8 pm Monday night slot that the network has renewed the series for two more years. That means How I Met Your Mother will run throughout the 2013 television season, and it may be a very long wait until we actually find out who the mysterious mother is.

The show, which debuted in 2005 with a strong supporting cast that includes Alyson Hannigan, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, and Josh Radnor, has developed a very loyal following over the years, drawing nearly 9.1 million viewers an episode.

While How I Met Your Mother will be back for its seventh season this fall, its running mate Two and a Half Men has a more uncertain future in light of star Charlie Sheen's ongoing public dispute with the show's producer Chuck Lorre.
