The Province recently spoke to three-time Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore, who revealed he will return to Middle Earth to score The Hobbit. Here's what the composer had to say:

"We've talked about making these movies for many years, at least since 2002. It looks like finally it's going to be happening. I'll be working on it for the next three years -- it's going to consume a lot of my time and work now."

Howard Shore provided the score for The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord Of The Rings: The Return of The King. Shore won Oscars for his Best Original Score for both The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring and The Lord Of The Rings: The Return of The King, picking up an additional Oscar for Best Original Song in The Lord Of The Rings: The Return of The King.
