John Singleton hinted at the Los Angeles press day for Abduction that he is looking to reunite with his Boyz N the Hood star Ice Cube on an N.W.A. biopic, reports The Playlist:

"I can't talk about it too prematurely about the stuff I'm doing because nothing's come to fruition yet, but Ice Cube and I are talking about doing the N.W.A. story," John Singleton told The Playlist. "The script is really, really good, and so we're just figuring it out. New Line really wants to make it."

Four writers, including Andrea Berloff, S. Leigh Savidge, Alan Wenkus and Matt Alvarez, are attached to the project which centers on the influential gangsta rap group. Straight Outta Compton is the title being thrown around for the project.
