Five years ago this month, Daniel Radcliffe bid farewell to the Harry Potter franchise with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2. Since then, the young actor has been taking on vastly different indie projects, such as Horns, Kill Your Darlings, What If and his current films Now You See Me 2 and Swiss Army Man. The beloved actor will next be seen in an intense role as an undercover FBI agent in the new thriller Imperium, which is set for release on August 19. To get fans ready for Imperium, Lionsgate has debuted the first trailer.

Nate Foster (Daniel Radcliffe), a young, idealistic FBI agent, goes undercover to take down a radical right-wing terrorist group. The bright up-and-coming analyst must confront the challenge of sticking to a new identity while maintaining his real principles as he navigates the dangerous underworld of white supremacy. Inspired by real events, Imperium stars Daniel Radcliffe, Toni Collette, Tracy Letts, Nestor Carbonell, Burn Gorman and Sam Trammell.

Imperium will be released by Lionsgate Premiere in theaters and On Demand August 19. This action-thriller will go up against Paramount's Ben-Hur, Focus Features' Kubo and the Two Strings and Warner Bros. War Dogs. Also opening that weekend in limited release is Magnolia's documentary Lo and Behold, Reveries of the Connected World, Music Box Films' drama Mia Madre, A24's dramatic comedy Morris from America, Cohen Media Group's The People vs. Fritz Bauer and Strand's drama Spy Night.

Imperium was directed by Daniel Ragussis from his own screenplay, which was based on a story by Michael German. Imperium marks Daniel Ragussis' feature directorial debut, following his two short films Word is Bond and Haber. He also serves as a producer on Asher, which is currently in pre-production and has Danny Glover and Mekhi Phifer attached to star.

After Imperium, Daniel Radcliffe will next be seen in Jungle, starring alongside Avengers: Age of Ultron star Thomas Kretschmann.
