‘Independence Day 2’ Confirms July 2015 Release Date

Independence Day sequel set for summer 2015 release 20th Century Fox has issued a fitting July 3, 2015 release to the Independence Day sequel, currently titled ID Forever - Part 1. No date has been given for ID Forever - Part 2, but it would seem likely that this will be released on the same weekend in either 2016 or 2017.

The studio has also set a July 31, 2015 date for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which may now be called Peregrine's Home for Peculiars.

In addition, 20th Century Fox has shuffled release dates for some of its biggest titles next year. X-Men: Days of Future Past is swapping release dates with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, with X-Men: Days of Future Past now set for a May 23, 2014 release, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes bumped later into the summer on July 18, 2014. X-Men: Days of Future Past will now square off against the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore comedy Blended, while Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will go up against Planes: Fire & Rescue.

Finally, Assassin's Creed starring Michael Fassbender has been slated with a June 19, 2015 release date, where it will go up against Inside Out.

Independence Day was released July 3rd, 1996.

Independence Day: Resurgence comes to theaters June 24th, 2016.
