Last week, the cast and crew of Independence Day: Resurgence held a live streaming Q&A session straight from the set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the official title was revealed and fans got their first look at some of the vehicles being used in the action sequel. With tomorrow marking America's annual Independence Day holiday, Ain't It Cool News reports that fans who see Terminator Genisys will be treated to the first teaser trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence. The trailer will only be shown on July 4, and there is also a "good chance" that this first look at the sequel will be online later today.

Production has only been under way for a few weeks, so it seems unlikely that any actual footage will be shown in this teaser. As for what will be shown, that is unclear. But we already saw the official Independence Day: Resurgence logo in a motion poster that was released during last week's Q&A. The motion poster/logo reveal was 25 seconds long, but another report reveals that this teaser will be "around 35 seconds long," so it's possible that they could have just elongated the previous video and added some new graphics and/or text.

Original Independence Day stars Bill Pullman (Thomas Whitmore), Jeff Goldblum (David Levinson), Vivica A. Fox (Jasmine Dubrow), Brent Spiner (Dr. Brackish Okun) and Judd Hirsch (Julius Levinson) return to reprise their roles, alongside new cast members Jessie Usher, Liam Hemsworth, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Travis Tope, Joey King and Maika Monroe. The story centers on aliens from the original Independence Day returning, as the nations of Earth have used the leftover alien technology to protect the planet.
