The Los Angeles Times has posted a story this afternoon claiming that the new Star Wars videogame The Force Unleashed might soon find its way onto the big screen. Project leader on the game Haden Blackman is very hopeful and confident that his hard work might just become the next Star Wars theatrical film to see its way into theaters.

Blackman stated:

“Oh, that would be incredible. And it's not impossible. Never say never. George [Lucas] has looked to tell new 'Star Wars' stories through the games and with the entire Star Wars Expanded Universe, and then he has also shown a willingness to let the characters come into the films. Look at Aayla Secura, a creation in the [Dark Horse] comic books who became part of the theatrical films.”

The story sites George Lucas’ willingness to bring the new Cartoon Network series Star Wars: The Clone Wars to the big screen as an indication that Lucas isn’t against bringing a videogame to the Cineplex. Blackman not only wrote the video game, but he also wrote a graphic novel based on the new property, which could very well be used as a blueprint for the film.
