It's The First Day Of School... Forever, the latest children's novel from beloved author R.L. Stine, has been acquired for a big-screen adaptation by The Gotham Group.

The story centers on a 12-year-old boy named Artie, who discovers that his second day of school is exactly like the first day, which actually was the worst day of his life. He keeps reliving the horrible day until he can figure out a way out of this recurring nightmare. Producer Ellen Goldsmith-Vein described the novel as a cross between Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Groundhog Day.

Ellen Goldsmith-Vein will produce through The Gotham Group along with Eric Robinson, Yvonne Bernard, and Beth Elise Hawk. The producers intend to find a screenwriter to adapt the book before shopping it around to studios.

It's The First Day Of School... Forever novel will be published in July. No production schedule was given for this new adaptation.
