Comedic actor Jack Black will produce a new half-hour comedy for NBC entitled My Life as an Experiment, according to Deadline New York.

Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith, who served as executive producers/showrunners on The King of Queens, will write the pilot based on the non-fiction book by A.J. Jacobs. The book focuses on A.J. Jacobs, an immersion journalist whose bizarre experiments affect his family's life. Such experiments he went through include outsourcing everything in his life to India and co-authoring his nanny's emails to a dating service, where he learns about rejection.

Sony Pictures Television is behind the project along with Jack Black's Electric Dynamite Productions and Reveille. No production schedule was released for the new TV project.
