According to Variety, Jack Black is set to join Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet in Holiday, the Nancy Meyers-directed and -scripted romantic comedy for Columbia Pictures.

The ensembler focuses on a friendship that crops up between an American woman and a British woman, both of whom have been recently dumped. Black will play a film composer who becomes friendly with Winslet's character after she settles temporarily in L.A.

Meyers is zeroing in on landing a British thesp to play the love interest for Diaz's character.

Columbia Pictures exec veep Amy Baer is overseeing the project, and Meyers is also producing the film through her overall deal at the studio.

Black will next be seen in the Peter Jackson-directed King Kong. He's currently shooting Nacho Libre, a comedy from Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess.
