Actor Jake Gyllenhaal has stepped in to replace Dominic Cooper as the male lead in Warner Bros.' crime thriller Motor City. We reported back in September that Dominic Cooper was set to star in Motor City, but he recently had to back out due to scheduling conflicts.

Jake Gyllenhaal will play an ex-con who gets released from prison, and then begins a quest for vengeance, seeking out the men who framed him. Amber Heard will portray the female lead, while Gary Oldman is set to play the villain.

Albert Hughes is directing Motor City from a screenplay by Chad St. John, which landed on the Black List back in 2009. Joel Silver and Andrew Rona are producing through their Dark Castle production company. No production schedule was released for Motor City.
