James Franco has signed on to star alongside Jason Statham in Millennium Entertainment's Homefront.

The story centers on Phil Broker (Jason Statham), a former DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town to escape his past. However, he discovers the town is overrun by a dangerous meth distributor named Gator (James Franco).

Gary Fleder is directing from a script by Sylvester Stallone. Kevin King Templeton is producing alongside René Besson, Avi Lerner, and Trevor Short. Here's what Avi Lerner had to say about the project.

"I cannot think of a better group to put this film on the big screen. Sly's script is fantastic, James and Jason are remarkable actors and Gary really knows how direct this type of film. We start production at the end of September in New Orleans."

It isn't known if Sylvester Stallone plans on starring in the project as well.
