James Gunn is taking a little break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to return to his horror roots. Gunn is producing a new Untitled Elizabeth Banks Horror Movie with The H Collective, which is being directed by David Yarovesky (The Hive). Production has already kicked off, according to the movie's producers and, in honor of the movie getting underway, they've announced the full cast for the upcoming horror flick.

This untitled horror movie produced by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn will feature Jackson Dunn (Shameless), David Denman, (Power Rangers) Meredith Hagner (Search Party) and Matt Jones (Mom), in addition to the previously announced Elizabeth Banks to round out the cast. Banks and Gunn previously collaborated on his directorial cult horror classic Slither. The script was written by Brian and Mark Gunn. The H Collective will fully finance the project and produce alongside Gunn and his company, Troll Court Entertainment. The movie began principal photography last week. Gunn took to Twitter to confirm the casting and to announce that he's currently on set filming the movie.

"Excited to be adding my pal @David_Denman, awesome young talent Jackson Dunn, @mattjonesisdead from Breaking Bad & Meredith Hanger who I love in Search Party alongside @ElizabethBanks in our horror movie directed by @Yarvo (I'm here filming it right now!)"

There are precious few details available in regards to this mystery horror movie, but it sounds like James Gunn is quite involved, despite the fact that he's not directing. He's definitely a hands-on producer in this case. In between directing the Guardians of the Galaxy movies for Marvel Studios, Gunn has found time to squeeze these horror projects in. Last year, The Belko Experiment, which he wrote and produced, was released. Currently, he's busy writing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which he's set to direct as well.

As for this movie's cast, Jackson Dunn recently appeared in Showtime's Shameless and can next be seen in Mark Landre Gould's upcoming western, Gone Are The Days.

David Denman's recent credits include Steven Soderbergh's Logan Lucky and Power Rangers, as well as Michael Bay's very underrated 13 Hours. Meredith Hagner most recently appeared in TBS's Search Party. She's also appeared in movies like Ingrid Goes West. Matt Jones can most recently was seen in William H Macy's The Layover, and also provides the voice of Kyle on Dreamworks' Home. Sadly, it doesn't sound like James Gunn's buddy Michael Rooker made the cut for this one. But maybe Gunn will find a way to sneak him in there before production wraps up.

The H Collective was only established in June 2017, but they've already got several projects coming down the pipeline. In addition to this, they've also got Christopher Cantwell's The Parts You Lose, which stars Aaron Paul, Scoot McNairy and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. There's still no word on a release date for this untitled horror project from James Gunn, but with filming taking place now, early 2019 seems probable. This news comes to us from The H Collective.
