The cast of Paramount's highly-anticipated comedy sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues is filling out with James Marsden signing on to star, just weeks after Kristen Wiig was confirmed.

The actor will portray a rival anchor and nemesis to Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy. Little is known about the story, except that it takes place in the late 1970s, during the advent of the 24-hour news cycle. Needless to say, the Action 4 News team has trouble adapting to this news format. Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Christina Applegate are reprising their Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy roles as Brian Fantana, Champ Kind, Brick Tamland, and Veronica Corningstone.

Adam McKay is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Will Ferrell. Production is scheduled to start next month in Atlanta. We reported last month that the set was pilfered by wire thieves, who stole over $300,000 worth of wiring.
