James McAvoy is in talks to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in the Untitled WikiLeaks/DreamWorks Project for director Bill Condon.

We reported this summer that Jeremy Renner was circling the project to play WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, but it was Benedict Cumberbatch who eventually landed the role. James McAvoy is portraying Daniel Domscheit-Berg, whose book Inside WikiLeaks: My Time With Julian Assange At The World's Most Dangerous Website serves as the basis for this biopic. Joel Kinnaman was rumored to play Daniel Domscheit-Berg, although a deal never materialized.

Julian Assange launched the WikiLeaks website in 2006, recruiting Daniel Domscheit-Berg to join the site a year later with promises that the duo would change the world. The site came under fire when several diplomatic cables were released that embarrassed many world leaders. Daniel Domscheit-Berg left the site due to Julian Assange's lack of journalistic integrity.

Josh Singer is adapting the screenplay based on Daniel Domscheit-Berg's book and WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange's War On Secrecy by British journalists David Leigh and Luke Harding.
