Just a few months after debuting his directorial debut Bad Words, Jason Bateman has signed on to direct and star in an untitled FBI wedding comedy for Universal Pictures. The actor-filmmaker is currently in pre-production on his second directorial effort, The Family Fang.

No plot details were given for the untitled comedy, but Jason Bateman will direct from a screenplay by David Bar Katz (The Pest). Earlier drafts of the script were written by David Flebotte (Raising Hope) and Phil Alden Robinson (The Angriest Man in Brooklyn).

Jason Bateman and James Garavente are producing for their Universal-based Aggregate Films company, with Bob Cooper producing for Landscape Entertainment. No production schedule was given.

Jason Bateman will start production in mid-July on The Family Fang, which he also stars in alongside Nicole Kidman and Christopher Walken. On the acting side, Jason Bateman will next be seen in This Is Where I Leave You and Horrible Bosses 2.
