Jay Baruchel has signed on to star in the Untitled Cameron Crowe Project for Columbia Pictures.

The story centers on a defense contractor (Bradley Cooper) who is overseeing the launch of a weapons satellite in Hawaii. He ends up falling for an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone) while they secretly plan to sabotage the launch. The story also features mysterious island forces and a talking computer. Jay Baruchel is playing the contractor's step brother, with Rachel McAdams, Danny McBride and Alec Baldwin also set to star.

Cameron Crowe is directing from his own original screenplay, with Scott Rudin producing. No shooting schedule was released yet.

Jay Baruchel most recently starred in this summer's apocalyptic comedy This Is the End. He will next be seen in the RoboCop remake and he returns to voice Hiccup in the animated sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2.
