Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral is one of the many long-gestating sequels we often hear about but never see come to fruition. There has been a thirteen year hibernation period between now and the sequel Jeepers Creepers 2, which arrived in 2003. This past September, it was reported that director Victor Salva was finally ready to bring the Creeper back. Now we have word from Bloody Disgusting that shooting will actually begin next month. And that an original Jeepers Creepers cast member is returning.

Yes, if this story pans out, Gina Philips' Trish will finally get her revenge for the cruel death of her brother, played in the 2001 classic by Justin Long. The sequel is set to shoot in Vancouver, Canada sometime in April. At this time, none of this information has been confirmed by anyone directly involved with the movie.

Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral will also reportedly bring back the Creeper's van which features the license plate 'BEATNGU'. It is said to play a major role in the story. Myriad Pictures is producing the horror-thriller, and is set to bring the movie to the upcoming Cannes market for distribution. The movie is said to reunite the original creative team behind the original and its sequel.

Convicted sex offender Victor Salva, who wrote and directed the first two movies, is taking on the same duties here. Jonathan Breck will once again play the Creeper. And Brandon Smith is set to play Sergeant Davis Tubbs. Bloody Disgusting shares this synopsis.

"Jeepers Creepers 3 will show events on the last day of the Creeper's twenty-three day feeding frenzy, as the skeptical Sergent Tubbs teams up with a task force hellbent on destroying the Creeper for good. The Creeper fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever before to learning the secret of its dark origins."

Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope will return to co-produce this latest sequel in the Creeper series after producing both Jeepers Creepers and Jeepers Creepers 2. Kirk Shaw and Surai Gohill's Odyssey Media, and Stan Spry's The Cartel are also co-producing. Myriad's Kirk D'Amico will executive produce. At this time, the movie doesn't have a set release date.
