According to The Hollywood Reporter, after his decision not to run for political office, Jerry Springer has signed a new multiyear deal to continue hosting his talk show. The show's distributor, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, said Monday that Springer has signed a multiyear contract to continue as host of The Jerry Springer Show.

In addition, the distributor has renewed the show in more than 85% of the country through the 2006-07 season, including 45 of the top 50 markets. Stations renewing the show include those from such groups as Tribune, Sinclair, Fox, Granite, Hearst-Argyle, Raycom, Emmis, Lin and Clear Channel. Among the top-market stations are Tribune's WPIX New York, KTLA Los Angeles and WPHL Philadelphia and Sinclair's WBFF/WNUV Baltimore.
