The Grey, a new collaborative effort between director Joe Carnahan and his The A-Team leading man Liam Neeson, has been given the green light and is ready to begin shooting soon.

The thriller also stars Dallas Roberts, James Badge Dale, Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, Nonso Anozie, and Joe Anderson as a group of rough neck oil-riggers who become stranded in the frozen Alaskan tundra after their plane crashes. They eventually find themselves in the center of a roving and hungry wolf pack that they must fight off to survive.

Carnahan is prepared for a rough shoot, with his crew gearing up for some rather harsh weather conditions. The director said, "It gets to be 30 below, and when we went out the other day, I took off my hat to see how long I could last, and my skin was burning with frostbite in a little over a minute. In a way, it's great, because it beats the shit out of the cast and that suits the storyline."

Carnahan and his cast and crew are planning a forty day shoot.
