Production on Season 5 of True Blood is currently in full swing, with the show set to return sometime this summer on HBO. Some of the cast members were present at the network's post-Golden Globe Awards party last night, and revealed some intriguing tidbits about the new season. Joe Manganiello, who plays the werewolf Alcide, revealed his character will be much more ruthless in Season 5.

"As you saw at the end of Season 4, he's not taking anyone's shit anymore. Now you're going to see an Alcide who's going to slam you up against the wall and do his thing. Who doesn't like being slammed up against the wall, right? It could be a fun slam. And it could be an angry slam. You never know. Alcide is single."

Ryan Kwanten said that his character, Jason, will need to keep a close eye on Deborah Ann Woll's Jessica, after their romance went awry.

"As you know, anyone who gets involved with Jason better have her wits about her. But I think in this case, it's Jason who better watch out. The tables have finally turned."

Janina Gavankar teased that her character Luna will experience a life-changing event early on this season.

"A major thing happens to Luna early in the season, and it's going to change her life forever."

The actress also revealed that all she heard was "gasps" when the cast learned that Christopher Meloni is heading to Bon Temps.

"We're so excited to have him."

HBO hasn't announced an official premiere date for Season 5 of True Blood yet, but it will likely premiere sometime this summer.
