It seems director John Landis is putting together a film based off an important figure in comic book history. Deadline London is reporting that Landis is working on a film based off the life of William M. Gaines.

Gaines was the founder of EC Comics and was driven out of the comic book industry after his testimony to a Senate subcommittee on juvenile delinquency. Gaines fired back by creating Mad Magazine, which poked fun at aspects of high society.

Joel Eisenberg has written the screenplay for the film, which is now entitled, Ghoulishly Yours, William M. Gaines. No production schedule was revealed for the new film.
