Johnny Depp is in talks with Illumination Entertainment and Infinitum Nihil to produce and possibly star in the upcoming Untitled Dr. Seuss Biopic (Theodor Geisel). The actor is also going to produce the film.

The film will follow the life of Theodor Geisel, who was born in 1904 and spent much of his childhood in Springfield, Massachusetts before going to college at Dartmouth. Throughout his early years, he drew advertising and comic strips, then political cartoons during World War II. By 1950, Geisel was publishing the books that became worldwide classics. He died of throat cancer in 1991.

Keith Bunin will be scribing the biopic, while Christi Dembrowski, and Christopher Meledandri will be helping produce.

No production date or casting details have been released.
