Actor-director Jon Favreau has signed on for a role in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

The multi-hyphenate will play a securities lawyer, although no further character details were given. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Jordan Belfort, a Long Island stock broker who made millions selling phony stocks in the 1980s. The story is adapted from Jordan Belfort's memoir, that chronicles his rise and fall, along with his bouts of substance abuse. Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Jean Dujardin, Margot Robbie, Jon Bernthal, and Rob Reiner also star.

Martin Scorsese is directing from an adapted screenplay by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire). Production is scheduled to begin next month in New York City.

Jon Favreau has been mixing it up lately, with a number of acting and directing projects on his plate. He directed the pilot episode of the new NBC series Revolution, and he also has the musical Jersey Boys and Disney's Magic Kingdom in the works. On the acting side, we reported in May that he will star in Universal's Identity Thief, alongside Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. He will also return as Happy Hogan in Iron Man 3.
