Jon Hamm, Kevin Hart, Danny McBride, Sarah Silverman, Josh Gad, Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele are in talks to board an upcoming remake of the 1964 animated comedy The Incredible Mr. Limpet. Zach Galifianakis is already attached to star.

Arthur Lubin directed the original, which followed Henry Limpet. The shy bookkeeper turns into a talking fish resembling a tilefish and helps the U.S. Navy locate and destroy Nazi submarines. Don Knotts played the title character.

Zach Galifianakis will be playing Henry in this remake with Jon Hamm potentially playing the villain. Danny McBride and Sarah Silverman are being eyed for live action roles with Kevin Hart, Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele expected to voice sea creatures.

Richard Linklater is directing the project from a script based on the novel by Theodore Pratt. Bill Gerber is producing with Akiva Goldsman. Production could start this fall assuming the actors make deals to join the project. No release date has been set.
