Yesterday, we reported that Marvel's top two contenders to play Dr. Hank Pym in Ant-Man are Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd, although there is the possibility that another actor could end up landing the coveted role. While doing press for his directorial debut Don Jon in Paris, Joseph Gordon-Levitt confirmed that he is in early talks with Marvel, but nothing has been set in stone yet.

"There are always a lot of rumors around these projects and so far it is still only discussions. I am always very transparent when it comes to my role and my career. I'm usually the first to speak and communicate with my fans if something happens. If you hear nothing from me, they are just rumors."

With this statement, we have to wonder if Paul Rudd will come forward and confirm his potential involvement. Our report from yesterday also revealed one possible casting scenario, that one actor may be cast as Dr. Hank Pym, who creates a substance that allows him to shrink in size, with the other portraying criminal Scott Lang, who steals this technology and becomes his own version of Ant-Man.

Both Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd will reportedly meet with Marvel executives and director Edgar Wright one more time before a final decision is made by the studio.

Edgar Wright is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Cornish (Attack the Block), based on the Marvel Comics character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
