Sony Pictures is moving forward with its reboot Jumanji, bringing The Amazing Spider-Man producer Matthew Tolmach on board. He will work alongside original Jumanji producer William Teitler.

We first reported on this story a few weeks ago, when Columbia Pictures president Doug Belgrad offered the following update.

"We're going to try and reimagine Jumanji and update it for the present."

The 1995 original starred Robin Williams as a mysterious man who appears after two children (Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce) start playing a magical board game. The game unlocks many other dangers that come into this world, which can only be stopped by finishing the game. This new version will update the premise to be more suited for modern times.

The project does not have a screenwriter or director attached at this time.
