A lot, perhaps too much, was made about Bryce Dallas Howard's choice of footwear in Jurassic World. Believe it or not, many have wondered, even worried, if her choice to run away from dinosaurs in high heels will be a joke carried over into Jurassic World 2. Apparently not. Shooting is set to begin early next year. Producer and Writer Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first Jurassic Park reboot, teased Claire's footwear in a recent Twitter post.
There isn't a high heel in sight in the collage that Trevorrow pieced together. It's all rough and tumble hiking boots paired with some more classy, yet rugged footwear. However it shakes out, Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire will be rocking some brown shit-kickers this time around. He simply says this, accompanied by his collection of high-top hunting wear.

The image is from Jurassic World 2. Most likely one of the pieces the wardrobe department put together that currently adorns the walls of the post-production office. It's clear that Claire's choice of footwear in the first Jurassic World will be addressed, if even just visibly. But we can't imagine they'd pass up the chance to make a good joke. We're sure Chris Pratt will swing tight with at least a funny one-linear about the controversy.
Earlier in the year, Bryce Dallas Howard spoke to Huffington Post about the outrage surrounding the high heel controversay. There have been plenty of memes about those high heels. And one video even went back and added high heels to all the characters in the original Jurassic Park movie, including the dinosaurs. Don't worry, it all made Howard smile. She claims she's never had anything but fun with all the backlash. She exclaims.
"Oh my gosh! It's my favorite stuff, just the GIFs online. I mean, did you see the really funny thing where it had everyone from the previous film, including the dinosaurs, wearing heels? That was hilarious. It's obviously something totally unexpected, and I have a running joke for the rest of my life perhaps. I can be one of those people that's constantly referencing it, even 80 years from now."
It's actually impressive that Bryce Dallas Howard can be an action star in high heels, as she did a lot of her own running in that lambasted pair of shoes. Through the jungle, no less. Let's see any of her male counterparts try that! Jurassic World 2 doesn't have an official start date. But it seems the movie will begin shooting in Mid-January or early February.
No plot details have been revealed at this time. The action is said to go off-island, and will include plenty of new and exciting, and even scarier dinosaurs. Chris Pratt will be back alongside Bryce Dallas Howard and longtime franchise star D.B. Wong. Last night, it was announced that The Get Down breakout star Justice Smith has also come aboard as possible T-Rex fodder. The movie hits theaters summer 2018.
